About Lumeries
Lumeries turns a date into a picture: the moon, the night sky or the map of a place, exactly as they were at that moment. The shop is run by Waleria Cenaj from Erkelenz in western Germany — no agency, no team, one small business.
What we sell — and what we do not
You receive a print-ready image file, not a printed poster. That is the key difference from most sellers and the reason for the price: printing, packaging and shipping fall away. In return you print it yourself — at home, at a copy shop or through a photo service. If you want a finished, framed poster delivered to your door, a physical seller serves you better; we would rather say that upfront than afterwards.
How the images are made
Moon phases and star positions are computed with SunCalc, an open astronomical library, for the date and coordinates you enter. These are not illustrations and not approximations: two different dates produce two different images. Any date between 1900 and 2032 works. The city maps are built from open map data.
Why it costs less than elsewhere
A comparable poster from physical sellers usually costs €25 to €70 plus shipping. Here the file costs €9.90, with printing adding roughly €4 to €12 depending on size. The difference is not the quality of the calculation but that printing and logistics are gone.
What we deliberately avoid
Our pages carry no customer ratings, because we will not display invented ones and have collected too few real ones so far. There are no artificial countdown timers and no "only 2 left" notices on a digital product that is unlimited. Before every purchase you see a live preview — what it shows is exactly the file you receive.
